PROGRAMME OF UNESCO GRANTS FOR BASQUE
programme began in 1998 as a part of the Basque Governments decision to give
“Help to International Organisms to give grants to Basque Volunteers.” A series
of grants are conceded each year through which selected individuals are
incorporated into UNESCO centres in the countries of the South, carrying out
programmes in Education, Social and Human Sciences, Natural Sciences, Culture
and Communication and Information.
The duration of the grant is 12
months, with the possibility of prolonging it for 12 further months.
Up until now nearly 189 young people
have been able to enjoy this programme from the seven calls for applicants that
have been made. During this time the destinations have covered nearly the whole
