Consultation with civil society on good practices in water, sanitation and human rights

On 13th and 14th September UNESCO Etxea took part in Geneva in the consultation on good practices organised by Catarina de Albuquerque the independent expert on the human right to water and sanitation.

For two days representatives from civil society organisations from around the world met in the Palace of Nations to present and debate successful experiences in the practical implementation of the human right to water and sanitation.

The independent expert is consulting various actors in order to gather together good practices which will be presented in a report to the Human Rights Council next year. The expert will also prepare a publication on good practices in relation to water and on good practices in relation to sanitation.
