UNESCO Etxea article in the publication of the 4th Water for development forum

The Canal Foundation every year organises the Water for Development Forum as a meeting point for the most important international agents working in the water and sanitation sector.

The fourth forum was held last year in Madrid and was dedicated to the human right to water. The publication which contains the conclusions from the Forum has an article from Natalia Uribe, head of UNESCO Etxeas Water and Human Development Programme, presents the situation of lack of access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation around the world and the enormous implications that this has for human rights. It also deals with the meaning and implications of the human right to water and the role of development cooperation in its promotion and implementation.

This publication is available at UNESCO Etxeas documentation centre.
