Summer Course: "The Challenge of Access to Water in the 21st Century: Governance, Cooperation and Human Rights"

On 2nd and 3rd September the Summer Course "The Challenge of Access to Water in the 21st Century: Governance, Cooperation and Human Rights", organized by Water Assessment & Advisory Global Network and UNESCO Etxea, will be held as part of the 29th Summer Course Season at the University of the Basque Country.

This course, to which will contribute UNESCO, PsEau- Programme Solidarit Eau and other organizations, aims to involve society in the global challenges surrounding water; identify and compare the solutions that are being developed to deal with these situations, including both official development aid and bilateral initiatives on the one hand, and innovative multilateral ones on the other; and finally, promote the recognition of water as a human right, to create a decision-making tool for improving the situation with regard to access to water and sanitation in the world.

This course is aimed at a broad-based target group, including water operators; cooperation actors from authorities and social organizations; and under- and postgraduate students and lecturers. Full information about the final programme and how to register will be available on the summer course website, and information will be sent out by UNESCO Etxea.
